Stephane Timpano

BIO

Stephane Timpano is the managing partner of Bain & Company’s Lagos office. He is an expert in Bain’s Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) practices.

Stephane has worked for major companies, governments and international institutions in major sub-Saharan countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda and South Africa. He also formerly worked in Bain’s Milan office.

Stephane has deep experience in the telecom and IT industries, serving major mobiles players in sub-Saharan Africa and previously in Europe. He works with clients to address a range of issues, including customer experience and growth strategy.

In the public sector, Stephane has supported several governmental organizations in redesigning their operating model and organizations. He also worked closely with institutions to redefine their long-term development plans and guarantee their capacity to deliver results.

Prior to joining Bain in 2000, Stephane worked for another major consulting firm for three years. Between 2006 and 2011, he worked in a number of leadership positions at major media international companies operating in the Music and Pay-TV sectors.

Stephane holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi in Milan, a BA in economics from Université d’Aix-Marseille and a BA in political sciences from Institut d’Etudes Politiques.
